Practical UK Local SEO guide

Local SEO Tools & Resources

These resources are designed to help you make a decision or complete a Local SEO task.

They are not “SEO score” gimmicks.

Each tool should help you work through a real problem and, where necessary, take you back to the guide that explains the judgement behind it.

At launch, LetsBuzzMedia provides four core practical resources:

  • Local SEO Checklist
  • Google Business Profile Audit
  • Location Page Qualification Tool
  • Local SEO Glossary

How to use the resources

Start with the task you actually need to complete.

If you are setting up Local SEO from scratch, use the checklist.

If you are checking a Business Profile, use the GBP Audit.

If you are considering another town page, use the Location Page Qualification Tool.

If the terminology is getting in the way, use the Glossary.

A tool should reduce uncertainty.

It should not produce an impressive-looking number that pretends to predict Google’s algorithm.

Plan

Local SEO Checklist

Use it when:

You need to understand what has been done, what is missing and what to work on next.

The checklist covers the major Local SEO systems in a practical sequence.

It should help distinguish:

  • essential foundations;
  • business-model decisions;
  • website work;
  • Business Profile work;
  • reputation;
  • authority;
  • measurement.

It does not tell you that completing 100% of the checklist guarantees rankings.

Local competition, geography, relevance and many other factors still matter.

Location Page Qualification Tool

Use it when:

You are considering a new town or city page.

The tool asks seven questions:

  1. Do you genuinely serve the location?
  2. Is it commercially relevant?
  3. Is there distinct search intent?
  4. Can the page contain useful local information?
  5. Is there evidence of service?
  6. Does the page add value beyond the main service page?
  7. Can it be maintained?

It then supports one of three qualitative decisions:

Strong candidate

The location has a genuine case for a page.

Needs more evidence

The business really serves the location, but the standalone value is not yet strong enough.

Probably do not create

The page is likely to add little genuine value or the service itself is not real.

The tool does not predict ranking.

Build and audit

Google Business Profile Audit

Use it when:

You already have or are setting up an eligible Business Profile and want to inspect the fundamentals systematically.

Areas can include:

  • eligibility;
  • business model;
  • identity;
  • categories;
  • service/address treatment;
  • contact information;
  • photos;
  • reviews;
  • measurement.

The result is an audit of decisions and accuracy.

It is not a proprietary “82/100 GBP score”.

A missing field is not automatically a ranking defect.

Reference

Local SEO Glossary

Use it when:

A term such as citation, canonical, geo-grid, service-area business or prominence is stopping you from following a guide.

The Glossary should provide:

  • plain-English definitions;
  • context;
  • links to deeper owner pages.

It is a reference tool rather than another long-form Local SEO course.

Grow

At launch, LetsBuzzMedia does not expose empty cards for review templates, citation trackers or other resources that have not actually been published.

The site will show a growth tool here only when it exists, works and has a clear purpose.

Until then, use the relevant educational hubs:

Measure

Likewise, this page does not pretend that an unpublished reporting template already exists.

For measurement methodology, use:

Local SEO Measurement: /local-seo-measurement/ Specialist tools should be added to this hub only when they are ready to use.

Why we do not build fake SEO scores

A single “Local SEO score” is attractive because it looks simple.

It is also capable of hiding important differences.

Imagine two businesses both scoring 72/100.

Business A may have:

  • excellent customer demand;
  • weak technical setup.

Business B may have:

  • technically perfect pages;
  • no local relevance or customer evidence.

The same score tells us almost nothing.

Likewise, LetsBuzzMedia does not need:

  • a keyword-density score;
  • an AI/GEO score presented as Google’s algorithm;
  • a fake index checker;
  • a location-page ranking probability;
  • a magic GBP completion score.

Useful tools should help answer a real question.

How the tools connect to the methodology

The resources use the same evidence framework as the guides.

Google/platform confirms What an official first-party source actually documents.

Industry evidence

Useful independent research that does not become an official Google claim.

Our observation

What has genuinely been seen in the live case study.

Unknown / not established Where evidence does not justify a confident conclusion.

That means a tool should be comfortable returning:

“We do not have enough evidence yet. ” That is more useful than generating certainty because the interface needs an answer.

Read the Methodology at /methodology/ for the full framework.

Real Project: using the tools on McKnight’s Flat Pack Assembly

The Flat Pack project provides a practical test bed.

Local SEO Checklist

The checklist can show which parts of the wider system have been implemented and which still require work.

GBP Audit

The audit can document Business Profile decisions without pretending that completion equals ranking success.

Location Page Qualification

This is particularly relevant.

The project already uses service-area pages for Antrim and Newtownabbey.

Future locations should first pass the same genuine-service, commercial, intent, evidence and usefulness tests rather than being published automatically.

Glossary

The case study also provides concrete examples for terms such as:

  • service-area business;
  • location page;
  • citation;
  • geo-grid;
  • keyword mapping.
